Edgar Whitcomb

- Lawyer. Edgar Doud Whitcomb (born November 6, 1917), a veteran and escaped prisoner of war during World War II, returned to the United States an became and attorney and the 43rd Governor of Indiana. His term as governor began a major rift in the Indiana Republican Party as urban Republicans became more numerous then rural Republicans, leading to a shift in the priorities of the party leadership.
