. Robert MacGregor Dawson (March 1, 1895 – July 16, 1958) was a Canadian political scientist and academic. He is best known as the author of the 1947 textbook, The Government of Canada. Born in Bridgewater, Nova Scotia, Dawson received a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1915 and a Master's degree in 1916 from Dalhousie University. He received a A.M. degree from Harvard University and M.
