John Preston Halstead
- American athlete. John Preston Halstead (August 15, 1886 - November 15, 1951) was an American athlete. He competed in the 1908 Summer Olympics in London. Halstead graduated from Cornell University the same year with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He earned the nickname "Lightning-foot" Halstead for his exceptional running ability. He was married on August 17, 1922 to Frances Lewis Underwood, at Hutchinson, Kansas. He died on November 15, 1951, in Buffalo, New York, and was buried at Ashes Rome Cemetery.
