- Australian politician. James Andrew (Jim) McGinty (born 22 September 1949) is an Australian politician. He was a Labor member of the Western Australian Legislative Assembly from 1990 to 2009, representing the district of Fremantle. He was Labor Party leader and Leader of the Opposition from 1994 to 1996.
