William George Thompson
- Australian politician, Businessman, soldier. William George Thompson (2 March 1863 – 26 March 1953) was an Irish-born Australian politician. He migrated to Australia as a child and was educated at state schools in Rockhampton in Queensland. He became a shop worker, a business owner and a colliery owner. He served in the military 1899-1901 and 1910-1917, and also sat on Rockhampton Council. In 1922, he was elected to the Australian Senate as a Nationalist Senator for Queensland.
