- Football player and coach, played for the Minnesota Gophers at the University of Minnesota, and later for the Brooklyn Dodgers. He was head coach of North Dakota State Bison from 1946 to 1947. Stanislaus Clarence "Stan" Kostka (July 8, 1913 – February 3, 1997) was an American football fullback in the National Football League (NFL) and later a college football coach. Kostka played for the University of Minnesota Gophers and was a member of the 1934 team that won the National Championship. He played for the NFL's Brooklyn Dodgers in 1935. Later he was head coach of North Dakota State Bison football team (1941, 1946-1947). Kostka was born in Saint Paul, Minnesota. Born 07/08/1913. Died 02/03/1997.
