- United States Navy Medal of Honor recipient. Middleton Stuart Elliott (October 16, 1872 – October 29, 1952) was a Surgeon in the United States Navy and a Medal of Honor recipient for his role in the United States occupation of Veracruz. Dr. Elliott retired from the navy in 1936 at the rank of rear admiral. He died October 29, 1952 in Los Angeles, California and is buried in Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery, San Diego, California.
